EPIC FAIL

Today was suppose to be a productive day, the plan was to pop to the Coffee Morning at the school raising money for Cancer.  Then back home for a bake off, I was planning on baking loads of cakes for the Carnival, and then finish about 2.30pm to go my son's achievement assembly at his school.  BUT, I've had one whole Epic fail day!!!!!!
I went to the coffee morning, had a quick cup of tea and a slice of apple and almond cake and rushed to the shop to grab a few things for the cakes I was planning to bake.  Quickly got home unpacked my bags, and I get a knock at the door, a friends had popped in for a coffee.....so 3 hours later we are still 'having coffee'!!! Another friend pops in so we decide to pop out to lunch, a quick bowl of nachos and a glass of at the local Hungry Horse, which was lovely. Made a quick walk to the school to pick the kids up and S××t!!! I've bloody forgot the achievement assembly. ...I'm in huge trouble now, and feel awful that I missed it!!

Much Better Day...

My famous cupcakes, they turn out really fluffy, I love them and so do my kids.
Finished Cupcakes mmmmmm

150g Caster Sugar
150g Stork
175g Self Raising Flour
Vanilla Essence a couple of drops
3 Eggs

Topping

200g Butter
400g Icing Sugar
2 Table Spoon of warm water

To start with I heating the oven to gas mark 4, and line my cupcake dish with 12 Muffin Size cases.

I always use all in one method with my Cup Cakes, so throw in Caster sugar, Flour, Stork,  Eggs, Colouring and Vanilla Essence, I love Vanilla. I then Mix until all mixture is mixed until smooth but thick.

I then use a piled tablespoon to divide the mixture in to the 12 cases, and put them in the middle of the oven for 15 minutes, check that they are firm to touch, if not try another 2 minutes and try again.

We are now gonna make the icing for the top, grab roughly 200g of Butter and whisk until light and fluffy, then add roughly 400g of icing and Mix, until it is all mixed together , this become messy, like a dust storm all over your kitchen and you! If it doesn't look like it is mixing properly throw a teaspoon at a time of warm water.  you can also throw in some vanilla essence if you fancy it, at this point you may want to throw some colouring in, your choice of colour, but today I'm not using any.

Now the cakes will need to come out the oven and cool down,  When they have cooled, use a star shaped nozzle and  swirl the icing on top like a flower.

There you have it, done!!

Stormy Day.....

Its been a little stormy inside and outside my home today, My oldest little man was having an episode this morning before school all over a coat!! Thank god he got over it by the time he got home from school!!
But its still made me feel crap today, I'm very good at putting on a front, smile and laugh about things and pretend that life is rosey, but underneath it isn't and I'm crumbling fast and waiting for someone to rescue me.......so today I have spent most my time crying, I was hoping it would make me feel slightly better, but it hasn't. ...so my next hope is that after this horrendous storm we have had it has blown over the crap I've had to deal with and the way I feel this evening....I will let you know tomorrow when I awake!!!

Good night all xxx

Was wondering what to have for tea tonight even tho we have just been shopping I just couldn't find the inspiration, so as Ben played so well we decided on a takeaway. ..and just out of know where a post on Facebook guided me to which takeaway we would be having....75% off code, it would be rude not too! And two happy boys and when we had finished it went to my sister and her boyfriend, no waste here.

They are back....

Been up early today waiting for my boys to get home from Scotland with there dad, and they returned with a spring in there step, well for five minutes until they started arguing again!!! Glad they are home, but wished they just got on with each other!!!

Well we are just off to football now to Watch Ben play.......that was great even thou we got really wet it was worth it, they won yipee, it is the first win of the season, and finger crossed we can have a few more wins!!!

A little treat for me...

Well today was very productive for me, the great job of house chores!!! I hate cleaning with a passion, I know it needs to be done but with two little boys running around wreaking the place I'm reluctant to put to much hard work in to it! But as they are away I did put a little more effort than normal, so I was able to give both the kids rooms a good clean, the bathroom, and the hallways plus the lounge.....the kitchen will have to wait till Sunday maybe Monday, but I feel great about doing them.
So this evening I have decided to go to Bingo with my mum, we used to go on a regular basis but since having the boys money is tight so it is a real treat for me.
I love the buzz of playing Bingo, but the book prices have gone up so much, for two people, early early books were £9 and main books £35 so you can see why I don't go very often lol. We usually go early to get a decent seat as it gets very busy, but it does mean we have to wait around for awhile early earlys start at 6pm and main book's start at 6.45pm, they also have an afternoon session that starts about 12.30pm but I've never been, only been to the evening sessions. In between sessions they play 'the boards' which become very expensive so I only do the odd one for real and pretend with the rest. We never won on those, but at least between mum and I we called on the main books 3 times which is good work and great for the buzz, we won't be going for a while now had a great evening, spent all my money that I allocted for the evening but then came back with a little, so happy x

A Bad Day....

Well today wasn't gonna go well for me today....... Zack who is my youngest said point blank he wasn't going to Scotland with his Father to visit his Grandad, so early this morning the crying started!!! Now Ben is usually the one that I have problems with but today it was always gonna be my baby.

Zack protested about getting dressed knowing we where having to leave at 10.30am, so I convinced him that we could pop over the shop and grab some boiled sweets for there flight to Scotland.  We returned and I ushered them in to the car for our journey to our meeting point in Guildford, conveniently the car park we met in had a Burger King, we proceeded to enter the establishment which became very difficult with a 6 year old hung on to my leg, not wanting me to leave.  I tried to choose a convenient time to leave but it never came, so   it came down to me telling both my boys how much I love them, and asking their dad to put them in the car, Ben gave me a kiss and got in the car, now Zack it was so different, he screamed, he kicked and he screamed some more, cars stopped and watched as his dad bundled him in to the car and drove off, I had to follow them out of the car park at a distance, but poor Zack was still kicking and screaming.  I cried all the way home, and I felt so awful I threw up, my heart ached and still does, the emotional pain was something I had never ever witnessed before,  he really didn't want to go, and I have promised myself I will never ever make my kids to anything they don't want to do every again!!  But this was slightly different, 1stly I need a break as I have my kids, like a lot of people in my situation 24/7 on my own, and very rarely get the opportunity to have a couple of days or hours away from them, and 2ndly they Grandad had asked to see them, he isn't very well,  he has the dreaded C, and it pains me to think that this will be the last time my two will see him. He is such an amazing man and it upsets me thinking that my kids will not know all about Grandads Travels and experiences so it was valuable for both of them to go through the pain today to see there Grandad.

After a couple of coffees this afternoon I feel a little better, but the knotting in my stomach is still there and will be till they come back at 7.30am on Sat Morning
